A surprise email that made my week!
Thank you, Alan.
I’ve known Alan Stein for several years; he’s a fellow keynote speaker and author. I enjoyed his book, “Raise Your Game, High-Performance Secrets from the Best of the Best.” Like me, Alan has recently embarked on his standup comedy journey.
I was delighted to receive the following email from him this week. It’s nice that folks are reading this newsletter. Like Alan, don’t be shy about hitting reply and letting me know what you think.
With permission, here’s Alan’s email.
What’s good sir!
Holy ***** *****, you have no idea how much I respect and appreciate you. Seriously.
I did a deep dive in the past 48 hours and (finally) read every sub stack post and watched every YouTube video (I’m a proud subscriber) about your standup comedy experience. Your openness, vulnerability, and courage is beyond admirable! I really enjoy your writing style and love your approach on the videos.
I’m several steps and several reps behind you, I’ve only done two open mics, but man… EVERYTHING you’ve shared (particularly your frustrations with the open mic process… **** crowds… going on last… etc.) is right on point and in alignment with my limited experience so far!
And your breakdown of each keynote has been fascinating!
So please… keep it up!!!
I look forward to reconnecting at some point to talk shop… and next time I am in Nashville I would love to join you at an open mic!
Alan
Thanks a million again for your email, Alan. I’m looking forward to hitting a stage with you in Nashville one day soon.
