I was catching up with a speaker friend recently who did his first Moth storytelling night. Sharing a personal tale in front of a live audience is a massive step for anyone working on their stage and story craft. What touched me the most was his comment about my standup comedy explorations.
He explained that he had seen what I’d been doing and was inspired to try something out of his comfort zone. His brief mention of this as we were speaking warmed my heart.
“Yes.” I mentally whispered to myself in my best Kip (from Napoleon Dynamite) voice.
I could have set out on my standup adventure quietly without sharing this experience with you. This newsletter aims to inspire other 50+-year-olds to try something new. I hope more people try standup as one of these “somethings.” By the way, you don’t need to be fifty.
If someone in your life inspires you, tell them. Content creators like bloggers, podcasters, newsletter writers, and so on often publish their content in the void; the feedback they receive makes it all worthwhile.
Is this newsletter inspiring you to try something? Hit reply; I’d love to hear about it.
And way to go to my Moth amigo!
